Some belated ToaS thoughts that should have been included in last week's ToaS.
Virtuality : Ghod, it sucked. Really, really, sucked. Kinda like the vacuum of space trying to suck the commander out the airlock. That is how hard it sucked. I wasted two hours of my life watching this dreck when I could have been doing something more productive like, oh, having bloody diarreha. The only thing cool about it was the design of the ship. But even that wasn't enough to save it.
There was something else I was going to expound upon that I left out of last week's ToaS, but I forget now what it was about...
Onto this week's belated ToaS...
Fireworks. Our town just loves 'em to death. And I wish that the little sh!ts across the way would blow their freakin' fingers off. These are the same ID10Ts who put their bills in our mailbox, thinking that we will throw them away or maybe pay the bills for them. We keep taking the bills to the post office and dropping them off.
The problem is that the adults have the kids sort through the mail and anything that looks like a bill gets tossed into our mailbox. This way the adults can honestly say that they never saw the bills. And they have threatened a census worker (smart move, dumb asses).
But yet they have $$$ to buy on fireworks. They easily spent several hundred dollars on fireworks. And as far as I could tell, sadly none of them blew their fingers off.

Monsoon season has arrived. We got over .5" of rain in under a half hour. Has been humid and hot, and the nights haven't been cooling off as normal. Sleep has been fitful for both of us - when the better 7/8ths isn't sleeping well, I don't sleep well. Yesterday it poured buckets at the college, but at home, only 2 miles away, it rained for maybe 5 minutes.

Evenings this week, graveyards the next, then off to Santa Fe for a photographic workshop for a week.
Should be busy, but fun.

Warehouse 13 and Eureka are on SciFi - sorry, SyFy - this week. W13 looks like it has promise, and Eureka is always mindless entertainment. And it doesn't hurt that the actress who plays Jo is hot.

Buh-bye Sarah Palin. Don't let your 15 minutes of fame slap you on the arse on the way out the door.
Seriously. I have no clue what the extreme right sees in her. The best thing that the Republicans could do would be to embrace her in 2012 and go down in flames; burn out the extremists in the party and return to it's core values of smaller government and less taxes. Keep the government out of the home and bedroom and not go all fundie Christianist, holier-than-thou, moral police.
If you run for elected office, you have less of a presumption of privacy than that of an average citizen. Oh, wait - there is no presumption or right of privacy in the Constiution. Well, let us infer that there is such a right. Palin ran for an elective office and won, now she is crying "foul" for the media keeping it's lights on her.
Is there a double standard? Undoubtedly. However, you don't make it as far as Palin did without knowing the rules of the game. And honestly she used the media as much as the media used her; it's OK for her to bring forth her children and parade them around the stage. But when questions are asked about her last pregnancy and the oddities surrounding it, they cry foul.
Feh. Enough of the Tina Fey clone. If I ever see her face again on the TV it will be all too soon.
