Twice today (or only once if you go strictly by military time) was a special moment when the clock read:
12:34:56 for the date 7/8/9.
While technically it is 7/8/09, "0" means nothing and can be ignored.
Of course, for those of us who were in the military, today was 8JUL2009, and not 7/8/9 (or even 7/8/09).
Finally loaded in the images from a photo workshop that I attended at the end of last month - about 1/3 of the images are just ever so slightly out-of-focus.
I'm blaming my new glasses. They are progressive lenses and I'm still having issues dealing with where the lenses transition from distance (though for me "distance" is anything from about 1' away to infinity) to close up (1' <). I'm going to have to play with the diopter on the camera looking through the glasses then over the glass lens and see which works the best for me.
Or I can just go with the auto-focus on the lenses of the camera, which can be problematic in its own right. For example, focusing on a face the auto-focus might pick the hair or nose (but hopefully not nose hair) and not the eyes. Eyes have to be tack sharp - anything else just won't do. This is why I manual focus. I suppose that I can auto-focus and then tweak w/ manual focus...
I'll have to adjust the diopter for both the Canon and the Nikon, and undoubtedly they will have different values.

A Congresscritter in New York has upset people because he dared to say that MJ was a pedophile. I caught some of the blowback surfing through CNN on Monday.
While not quite tactful, the Congresscritter does has a point. MJ was acquitted - found not guilty - by a jury of his peers. This isn't the same as being proclaimed or found innocent. A subtile but big difference. I believe that the English judicial system has a ruling of "not innocent, but not guilty either" meaning that while the jury feels that the person isn't innocent of the crime(s) that they are accused of, there isn't enough evidence to prove them guilty beyond reasonable doubt.

I wish that the hoopla about MJ and SP would just.go.away. A righty blogger I read has denounced the left as having PDS ("P.... Derangement Syndrome"). A centrist blogger I read is keeping up on SP and the lies that she has told. And some lefty blogs that I read are having a field day with SP.
I wish that it would just all.go.away.
