My rotating shift is such that once every five weeks I end up doing a week of graveyard shifts (11:45 PM - 7:45 AM). In the spring semester, it so happened that my vacation requests for Spring Break and the week of my senior thesis presentation happened to fall on my regularly scheduled graveyard shift and as a result of taking vacation I didn't do it.
I think that this is the first full week of graveyards I've done since the beginning of the year. No, I take that back - did one in May.

Twice today (or only once if you go strictly by military time) was a special moment when the clock read:
12:34:56 for the date 7/8/9.
While technically it is 7/8/09, "0" means nothing and can be ignored.
Of course, for those of us who were in the military, today was 8JUL2009, and not 7/8/9 (or even 7/8/09).

Some belated ToaS thoughts that should have been included in last week's ToaS.
Virtuality : Ghod, it sucked. Really, really, sucked. Kinda like the vacuum of space trying to suck the commander out the airlock. That is how hard it sucked. I wasted two hours of my life watching this dreck when I could have been doing something more productive like, oh, having bloody diarreha. The only thing cool about it was the design of the ship. But even that wasn't enough to save it.
There was something else I was going to expound upon that I left out of last week's ToaS, but I forget now what it was about...
Onto this week's belated ToaS...

We were lazy bums yesterday - well, I was a lazy bum. The better 7/8ths and a former TA / lab slave went to some property that we watch for others and spent four hours clearing brush and creating a fire brake. In the process she discovered that our gas powered weed whacker has a pinhole leak in the plastic gas tank, so that will need to be replaced.
Me, I organized a bookcase, paid some bills, and did some shredding.
